St. Paul's Wurtemburg Lutheran Church
St. Paul's Wurtemburg Lutheran Church in Rhinebeck will be celebrating its 250th anniversary in 2010. An exhibit focusing on the church, its families, and the neighborhood will be the theme for the Museum in 2010. Church member Patsy Vogel and museum trustee Steven Mann, both from the Consortium of Rhinebeck History, are cochairing the event. Participation from Rev. Dr. Mark Isaacs and Mrs. Mark Isaacs from the Church is proving quite valuable.
The exhibit will open with a special reception at the museum on Saturday, June 5, 2010 from 6 - 8 PM. The exhibit will make use of objects from the Church's archive as well as those from the Museum's collection, including the Barbara Vaughan Frost Collection, Traver Collections, Robert Asher Collection and Eleanor Strong Asher Collection, Mann Collection, Town Historian Collection, Tricentennial Collection, and others.
Textiles, maps, photographs, and various three-dimensional objects will be on display. A special genealogy component focusing on various Wurtemburg families is also being developed and will hopefully be ready for the exhibit. Please plan to attend the opening, and come to the Museum during the 2010 season to enjoy spending some time learning more about the Wurtemburg Tract, Church and its history.
